Q. Why do we clap our hands?
A. Psalms 47:1, "Oh, clap your hands all you people."

Q. Why do we lift our hands?
A. Psalms 63:4, "I will lift up my hands in Your name." 1 Timothy 2:8, I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Q. Why do we have audible praise?
A. Psalms 34:1, I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Acts 4:24, So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord as said, "Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them..." Revelation 19:1, And after these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God."

Q. Why do we dance?
A. Psalms 149:3, Let them praise His name with the dance... Psalms 150:4, Praise him with the timbrel and dance...

Q. Why do we sing in tongues and English?
A. 1 Corinthians 14:14-15, For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. Ephesians 5:19, Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

Q. Why do we prophesy?
A. 1 Corinthians 12:7-10, But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each for the profit of all... to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy... 1 Corinthians 14:1, Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 1 Corinthians 14:31, For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged.

Q. Why do we sing choruses as well as hymns?
A. Ephesians 5:18-19, And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Colossians 3:16, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
