Psalm 63:1, A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, You [are] my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.

All week, I have been mulling over and reflecting over why our church family is growing. This thought stems over a phone message left to pastor from someone inquiring as to what he is doing to have such rapid church growth. Later during the week, two other people from the community approached pastor and personally asked him the same question. Hmm…sort of puts your mind on tilt, doesn’t it? Well, to be honest, so many reasons are going through my mind and I’m sure I won’t be able to cover them all in this short insert.

First and foremost, I believe our church is rapidly growing because we have a pastor that is called by God (not called by man). Not only did God call Pastor Eric, but instilled a vision paralleled with a strong passion to follow Him and to make disciples, followed by obedience. Being called, having a vision with strong passion, and serving in obedience are all essential in a successful ministry.

Pastor’s passion for God and people trickles down to each of the LifeinChrist ministries. Strong foundations are being established because pastor continuously seeks God for direction while sharing his passion. Our praise and worship teams sing from their hearts. Their worship moves us, touches us, and inspires us to surrender and live ALL for Him, while worshipping Him.

Our Kids4Him Children’s Ministry has teachers that have a passion to teach and share the love of God with children. Likewise, the Fire Starters youth group have two great leaders that encourage them through lessons directed towards them to create a “want” to serve God.

Our greeters greet with a smile, accompanied with a handshake or hug. The bar was raised for hospitality and a friendly atmosphere when we moved into our new sanctuary. Our ushers are quick to meet the needs of all of us. Our follow-up program reaches out to new attendees as well as to those who may have missed a few church services.

Then, there’s the discipleship program! Wow! Sooo much to say about that! Pastor doesn’t take the call of God lightly and it is quite evident through this 3-year program. The program is literally life-changing!

As the author of this writing piece, I am personally giving God all the glory, yes, ALL the glory for taking our church to where it is today. He has and will continue to bless LifeinChrist as we are obedient to Him and serve Him with our hearts. God has blessed Pastor Eric with a vision for His church and a passion to teach, disciple and develop others. To Him be all the glory!
